PLEXOS Solutions' WECC Term Forecast
Plexos Solutions provides software, consulting and information services for wholesale electric market participants in North America.
The company is leveraging its extensive experience in analyzing WECC markets to daily produce a term forecast for the balance of the quarter plus 3 more quarters for electricity prices at key trading hubs.
The term forecast uses:
- proprietary load forecast for all key regions in the WECC
- a complete snowmelt/hydrologic forecast for the major generation basins in the west encompassing hydro stations with MW of capacity
- daily fuel price model for key generation fuels
- outages and other key assumptions updated daily and, where applicable coordinated with CAISO LMP
- simulation performed with the utility strength PLEXOS for Power Systems
